As Easy As Apple Pie

Last year, Mini-Me and I shocked our family by making Thanksgiving dinner. If you know anything about me, then you know I can’t cook. I’m more of a baker, and even that’s a stretch.

And you should also know, to the great relief of my family, that this year I’m making reservations. Everyone is ecstatic!

Here’s the soul survivor prettiest and tastiest dish to come from our table. We borrowed the recipe from royalty, the Barefoot Contessa, herself. It was delicious.

 The fixings.

Turning up the heat.

Voila!

Serve with a generous scoop of vanilla bean or dulce de leche ice cream and be prepared to knock your guests socks off.

You can find the Barefoot Contessa’s Deep-Dish Apple Pie Recipe here.

That looks amazing, it actually leaves me wondering if I should try my hand at pie baking just one more time… I’ll let you know. Meantime have a great Thanksgiving out! Feeling a wee bit envious… 😉

Wow. That is beautiful. And reservations does sound wonderful. I’m responsible for two sides. And appetizers at my house before hand, then we move to my in-laws. Which makes me think — I better start planning something.

This is killing me because: 1) I LOVE apple pie and have not had a slice in almost 4 years of being gluten free. 2) It makes me think of my mama, who made the very best apple pie with apples from our tree.
    3) I want a slice right now!

That looks amazing!! How can you possibly say you don’t cook/bake/whatever?! When I say that, I mean I go out and pick up a pie somewhere! WOW!

Wow, what a beautiful crust! I have never been able to make a crust – at least one that did not come from the freezer section. Enjoy your “reservations”!

Well, now you can’t hide behind the idea that you can’t cook. That’s a winner! Beautiful.
