My Summer Reading List: Comic Relief At It’s Best

It’s summer. The kids are home and it’s sweet bliss. What? You can’t wait for September? Have no fear. Labor Day will be here soon enough. If you feel you’re in need of some comic relief – and who isn’t? – have a look-see at what I’m reading poolside.

This group is smart and sassy and delivers the laughs I so desperately need. There’s a mixture of new and seasoned writers – four women and one mensch, to be exact – for your enjoyment.

I had the pleasure of meeting most of them at the Erma Bombeck conference earlier this year and followed a few around like a puppy hoping to glean some funny off their talented souls by being in their air space. They were kind, generous, and never swatted me away. I’m pretty sure one even patted me on the head while we drank wine.

Yes, I hung with the cool kids, and I am forever grateful. So go check them out, curl up on your chaise lounge, hide behind your book, and don’t forget the sunscreen. Chocolate smoothies are optional.

I read Emotional Baggage Claim and it was fantastic! Currently reading Why. My Third a Husband Will Be A Dog and I’ve got my copy of Have A Mice Giilt Trip waiting in the wings. Guess you could say I’ve become a Scottolibe junkie since Erma!

Good to have a few choices for comic relief this summer. Mostly I have been reading heavy philosophy and poetry (by choice but still!)

I love book lists! Thanks for this one of some humorous reads. As it is the nearing the end of summer, I could use some humor.

Stopping by from #SITS and so glad I found you!
