Just in case you find a few hours to yourself this holiday season, whether on a plane, or perhaps, hiding in the closet when family visits so you can avoid post-election mayhem (preferably with a glass of wine or other beverage of choice), here are some books you might like that have been sitting on my nightstand gathering dust now that I’m in graduate school.
It’s hard to believe I’m already halfway through my journalism program. With graduation day just one semester away, I already know I’m going to miss it here. After decades of dreaming and planning for my launch back into academia – this incredible experience is going by way too fast. Funny, when I was a young student I couldn’t wait to get out of school. This time around they’ll have to take me out kicking and screaming.
And, just in case you’re wondering…Freshman 10 isn’t just for freshman. The only thing that would make this complete is if I developed acne…no wait.
Did I mention that final exams are coming soon? Remember that panicky feeling? Well, honestly, I’m just too darn tired to be freaking out. I lost my shizz when I first when back to school – panic attacks in the middle of the night – but now I’m in the groove. “It’s gonna be ok,” I whisper, reaching for another chocolate.
Even though I love being back on campus surrounded by brilliant minds (omg, they’re so young!) I’m looking forward to the holiday break. Three weeks of no school – yippee! (I’m dreaming of a hammock, a warm gentle breeze, a fruity drink, and waves crashing in the background.)
I hope to catch up on my reading, and writing on my blog, too. Please know I miss you all. And I am so thankful you’re sticking around while I’m busy doing homework. (That sounds funny to me too!)
With no further a dew, here’s what’s on my list. I hope you’ll share what you’re reading in the comments below.
