Jazzercise Me

Today is Day 4 of #NaBloPoMo. For your enjoyment I present to you the 1988 Crystal Light National Aerobic Championship Opening.

If this doesn’t get you smiling and your heart pumping, I don’t know what will.

Before there was Tae Bo, before there was Zumba…there was Jazzercise.

This video basically shows what aerobics classes were like in the 80s. And probably why I have back problems today. Have you seen these moves? (Kids, don’t try this at home.)

And if you’ve ever had second thoughts about the benefits of exercise just check out these endorphin fueled happy faces.

See you at the gym!

Okay, that just looks freaking exhausting! I actually went back to Jazzercise last year — low impact! — and loved it. I think it may be time to start again. Trust me, I don’t look like anyone in that video!

I kind of loved Jazzercize. Zumba scares me. Nowdays, I am all for walking, biking and a little yoga.

I used to go home every day in the early 80’s and do my Jane Fonda VHS tape for exercise. Yikes! In my 20’s I could do it then. Of course I have her updated one for seniors. She’s still in better shape than I am. Not hard to do!

Jazzercise is still around and continues to grow. No other fitness based program has lasted 45 years and that is because continue to evolved with the times. We wear normal workout attire, dance to the latest/hottest music, use a variety of equipment including resistance tubes, stability balls and weights. We offer kickboxing style classes, core classes, interval training classes and many other formats. I encourage anyone looking for a fun, dance-based, total body workout to check out http://www.jazzercise.com and a class near you. We knew how to rock it in the 80s and will continue to rock your body in 2014!

That is too, too funny! “Jazzercise” just makes me think of Jane Fonda. And Jennifer Beals. 😀

I remember seeing this video online and laughing! I had outfits like that in the 80’s! Actually my husband was and still is a fitness professional who taught all this stuff! Funny times for sure!

OMG, yes! I did this (although not as attractively as these dancers do). Brings back memories.

Jazzercise is such a fun type of exercise–you exert yourself but not too much. Love the clothing in the old videos, too.
